Description
  • Workshop description
    • The workshop aims to introduce participants to deeper ideas about the Framework for Integration, a Dart based system that allows movers to redirect physical automatisms in real time using the Alexander Technique principles as a base of support.
  • How does your workshop fit with the theme “Taking Time to Connect”?
    • We point to connecting in its broader sense – connecting to ourselves as part of a collective of beings who have learned to respond to our environments through our psychophysical activity. The work of Raymond Dart in particular allows us to connect to our greater ancestry to permit a glimpse at our capacity to address our development and healing over time.
  • Learning objectives and activities
    • Participants will learn about:
      • Primary and Secondary intents (P+S)
      • Resets (R)
      • A general understanding of Engagement (E)
      • A general understanding of Spirals and counter spirals
      • How it all comes together to create two triangles (an upper and lower) who relate to each other in antagonistic action
    • Participants will:
      • Move about the room and on the floor
      • Work with each other
      • Will learn to apply the knowledge in an Alexander Technique teaching context
