Most people are beset with fears of the unfamiliar and put themselves into difficulties this way. The teacher must help the pupil forward in such a way that the pupil learns to self connect. What was fearful then becomes safe. We know this, but what shall we do with a pupil who is more deeply traumatized and fearful than usual? What can we offer a person who is emotionally upended when they come for lessons? We are not therapists nor are we willing to be, so what can we do in this situation? How can we help them come to a quiet state? How can we present this work to suit these particular pupils' needs?  That is what we will investigate.
