Speaker Bio
Sarah Barker is Professor Emerita at University of South Carolina. In 1974 she became a Theatre Movement Specialist and she has directed two graduate programs for actors and developed a system of psycho-physical approaches to acting and other performing arts. Sarah has been an Alexander Technique teacher since 1975, trained by Marjorie Barstow, and has studied more than forty somatic systems for unlocking the freedom and ability that comes with a mind/body unity. She has several ways to help everyone support their own study in movement and wellbeing: her book, the Alexander Technique, her practice video, Moving with Ease and her new app, Allez Up! Now Sarah integrates all of her expertise in teaching the Alexander Technique and has created tools that help people to live and work easily with more confidence and intention to accomplish their dreams.
